Staying healthy this winter
Sep 16, 2024Respiratory and other illnesses are on the rise. Many of our family, friends & neighbors are sick right now. Hospitals are seeing an increased burden of respiratory illnesses (I work in one and I can attest to this). Here are some simple things you can do to help your immune system and stay healthy. Ayurveda relates immunity closely with the concept of Ojas and it's important we protect this!
- Double down on your daily habits and routines (for example - getting enough rest!) - see handout below!
- Get enough variety of spices - especially warming ones - in your diet (turmeric, ginger, cinnamon etc)
- Your digestion is vitally important here! See my handout below for how to maintain a health digestion - for example this time of year eating and drinking warm foods and fluids, not raw or cold.
- Exercise daily
- Consider Ayurvedic supplements such as CHYAVANPRASH. See link below - I'd be happy to order for you if you'd like! Looks like it may be out of stock but I have a couple other recommendations if you'd like.
