What is Ayurveda and
is it right for me?
What is Ayurveda and where did it come from?
Β Shown here is a photo of Tiffany taking a client's pulse - one way to gain insight into the body.
Is Ayurveda meant to replace my doctor/care provider?
Absolutely not.Β Ayurveda is complementary to your current care with your provider(s) and we encourage you to continue your relationship and care with them and to continue taking any medication that is prescribed unless otherwise directed by them. Bottom line - Ayurveda is not meant to take the place of your doctor.Β It is meant to enhance your health and work together with what you are already doing.Β
Is Ayurveda a religion?Β
What is the connection between Ayurveda & yoga?
Β
Ayurveda and yoga are sister sciences.Β They evolved together thousands of years ago and then branched out to their own separate practices. It is not uncommon as part of an Ayurvedic protocol for the management of your condition to utilize a specific yoga posture or breath technique to help.Β
How does Ayurveda view imbalance/dis-ease?
Ayurveda offers a totally different paradigm of looking at health and dis-ease.Β Simply put, each one of us is born with a certain ratio of the 3 different βdoshasβ which makes up our constitution (or prakruti) as a whole. These doshas are vata (the air element), pitta (fire and water elements) and kapha (earth and water elements).Β Everything from the time of day, time of year, time of our life, the food we eat and everything around us contain these doshas as well.Β We are susceptible to certain diseases based on what our constitution is and we can help manage them by paying careful attention to our routines, diet and lifestyle.Β Sometimes herbs and other therapies are used as well. The goal of ayurveda is to bring us back from our vikruti (disturbed doshas or current constitution) to our prakruti (our natural constitution).

What can I expect from an Ayurvedic consultation?
When you meet with Tiffany for the first time, expect to meet with her for 2-3 hours to complete the intake.Β You will discuss your intake papers and go through in detail your history including medical, family, review of systems, medications etc.Β Tiffany may also take your pulse (if in person), inquire about height, weight, pain and also ask to see your tongue for further information.Β At the end of your session, you will have a detailed list of things you can do to help you feel your best.Β This may include but is not limited to dietary changes, daily routine suggestions, yoga or meditation practices, pranayama (breath techniques), herbal remedies and more.Β A large part of this first session is also education about Ayurveda and its practices.Β Typical follow up sessions are about 1 hour and suggested to do a few monthly follow ups to begin with and then a plan will be created for future follow ups.
The initial consult package is for 3 months with a total of 5-6 hours of 1:1 time and is priced at $497. Follow up visits after that will be scheduled on a case by case basis.
